Period Question (women only) HELP PLEASE!?

heyy everyone.. so I'm going to the Atlantis in a few days with my friends and I might be getting my period soon.. I'm supposed to get it around the 27th but i might be getting it early. I'm 14 and I've never used a tampon before and I don't exactly know how to use it.. I'm going to talk to my mom but she's at a partyy and I dont wanna bother her right now lol anyway so I don't really know what to do because I of course wanna go on the water rides and not worry about my period but I can't stop it.. and my mom is pretty easy going so I was wondering if theres any pill or anything i could do to stop it for right now? Thanks!
