Can Japan island share the fate of Atlantis?

There was a legend, that some old city named Atlantis sinked somewhere in the ocean. It was never found and some thought it was a great and - extraterrestial - civilisation which dissapeared in cataclysmic shock. Currently we saw in march, that nature can return favor for japanese people, mainly because they made their gods angry by killing whales and dolphins. What do you think, can japanese island be sinked in tumors and flood anf thus share the legendary fate of Atlantis.
