How to go colorful from grayscale in Photoshop?

I just scanned my sketch in a stationery, I guess they scanned it grayscale or something. When I try to import textures and colors on it, it comes grayscale. I can't even draw color and even if i select color it draws black-white. How do I fix this please help?
