Information on Greenville, SC from a local?

I am moving to this area in September. I recently visited the town, but I would like to hope there is more to do than walk downtown. I guess I need some information. I want to know what the people are like, is it easy to get a job, where someone should not go (ex: projects), what kind of bars are there, are people friendly? ... etc. If you have any insight, I would greatly appreciate it.
